Find a second home in Newport!

This town is filled with lovely Airbnbs! If a hotel isn't to your liking or if you find a deal (Newport ain't cheap, we know), then treat yourself! Newport, Middletown and the surrounding areas all have great options. And you can Uber (or maybe walk) to one of the hotel pick-up spots.

Find a deal!

If you are not a big fan of any of the hotels listed above, please feel free to stay at any hotel of your liking -- Newport is not short on accommodations :)

The Downtown Area hotels are great for easy access to everything and/or wedding pick-up/drop-off shuttles... OR Middletown has great and reasonably prices options with excellent beaches to chose from.

Things to Do

THE CLIFF WALK

If there is one thing you MUST MUST MUST do in Newport, this is IT. Per Newport's website, "Craving serenity? Newport's enchanting 3.5-mile Cliff Walk is the perfect place for your moment of peace. Panoramic ocean views, crashing waves and the perfect amount of sea breeze on one side and stunning, century-old, Gilded Age mansions on the other; heaven is a place on earth."

Mansion Tours

You can't miss the mansions (castles) in Newport -- literally they are everywhere. Take a drive or rent a bike/scooter and see the magic for yourself. P.S. Yes, you can buy tickets to go inside some of the mansions.

Rent a scooter!

These scooters (cars?) are the BEST. Although you will look like a tourist you will have the most fun exploring Newport in these cute little rides.

Hit the beach!

The beaches in Newport are a hotspot during the summer. Our favorite is Easton's beach... Two things about Easton's, parking can be crazy, but there are plenty of Airbnbs walking distance :) P.S. this beach is located right next to the beginning of the Cliff Walk, too!

Dining

Treat Yourself to a Lobster Roll

LOBSTAH! Lobster rolls are probably our favorite East Coast treat. If its your first time -- you MUST get a lobstah roll. If you'd have a lobster roll, then now is your chance to taste-test Newport's selection... Of course Newport's website has a list of must-try restaurants. Enjoy :)

Bar 'Cino

This is our favorite restaurant in Newport. Get your reservation ASAP because we aren't the only ones who love Bar 'Cino. Per the website Bar 'Cino is "located in the heart of historic Washington Square, Bar ‘Cino is part of the bustling restaurant and arts scene. Filled with locals and visitors to Newport alike, our intimate space gives you a front row view to the culinary and bar teams in action. Open daily for lunch and dinner."

Perro Salado

This restaurant is AWESOME -- and is located inside Captain Stephen Decatur's HOUSE. Captain Decatur died in 1820; the history is "Owner Captain Stephen Decatur, famous 18th century naval officer, received accolades for his heroism in the Barbary Wars and service during the War of 1812. Washington Irving declared 'a gallanter fellow never stepped a quarter deck.' However, Decatur was mortally wounded by Commodore James Barron at the Bladensburg dueling grounds outside Washington, D.C. at age forty-one. The dispute involved Decatur's role in Barron's court martial for unpreparedness in the Chesapeake-Leopard Affair of 1807. Visitors frequently ask us whether Captain Decatur haunts the house... We have neither seen nor heard our gallant hero. But if we did, we're confident he'd be complimenting the margaritas and ribs, or dancing to some music with our local artists and fellow customers."

Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant

This iconic watering hole hides behind the yellow building on Thames street (you can’t miss it), the inside is just as promising as the outside. The pub food selection is classic, but they happen to have over 250 vintage wines to choose from… Definitely a hidden gem if you’re a wine enthusiast. Cheers.

Belle’s Cafe

Great place to treat yourself to breakfast with a beautiful view overlooking the boats in the marina. Try to make a reservation (if possible).

Marco’s Cafe

A great spot for a quick bite for breakfast or lunch. If you wanna grab some bagels before the day or maybe some sandwiches for the beach, this could be a great option!
